These people wouldn’t do anyone harm regardless of race but they just want a certain cultural experience for their own families and the are treated like it is a crime if this is what they instill in their children.
Don’t get me wrong there are certainly plenty of racists in the traditional sense to go around in our country who really need to be dealt with; however, I’m not speaking about those people who want to do harm to other races in various ways.
Unfortunately, you may need to end up choosing between your family and your relationship.
In this case, I would say that you should stick to your guns and date this guy, as long as he treats you right and makes you happy. I’m sure they will, and that’s because they are trying to, for lack of a better word, bully you into doing what they want you to do.
Most Asian parents hold education in the highest regard, and statistics show that poverty and lack of education is higher in the Black community.
That's not only a stereotype but the unfortunate truth.
Try to be as mature and calm as possible as you explain to them how you feel.
Tell them you love them and respect them, but you’ve fallen for a black guy who you really want to date.
It’s really disappointing that your family can’t accept this, but it’s not fair that you should be unhappy because of their messed up views. Will they try to alienate you or take away your privileges? Be strong and let them know that they can’t make these decisions for you.
